A Healthy Lifestyle Equals a Healthy Smile

There are many things you can do to achieve a healthy smile, and one of those things is having a healthy lifestyle. If you have a healthy lifestyle, you have a higher chance of having a better oral health and better life. So, to help you accomplish this goal, our Dental Associates of Manchester team recommends doing the following things:

Keep up on oral hygiene: Clean your smile each day by brushing every morning and every night and flossing at least once a day. You can also complete the cleaning job by rinsing your mouth with beneficial mouthwash, like antibacterial mouthwash or fluoride mouthwash.

Have a balanced diet: Having a balanced diet can help your teeth and gums all while helping your entire body. So, it’s best to avoid eating and drinking sugary and acidic products and consume foods and drinks that are healthy for your smile and overall health. It’s also recommended to exercise when possible. Research shows that those who remain physically active are more likely to have a greater number of remaining teeth. However, if you participate in contact sports, please wear a mouthguard.

Avoid using tobacco products: Tobacco is a dangerous and damaging product for your smile. It can cause tooth decay, tooth discoloration, and even oral cancer. It’s best to avoid tobacco products altogether. We also recommend that you avoid drinking alcohol. Alcohol can also harm your oral health.

If you do these things, you’ll be on the right track toward the strong, healthy, functional, and beautiful smile you deserve!
